How is Vines Concierge Medicine Different?
The primary difference at Vines Concierge Medicine is time. In order to devote more time to each patient’s care and individual needs, Dr. Vines intentionally limits the size of her practice. This allows for more time to diagnose, educate, counsel, and treat. Extended, unrushed visits will enable Dr. Vines to spend meaningful time with patients, build strong relationships, and work collaboratively to provide more comprehensive, proactive care than in traditional practices. To make this possible, the patient pays an annual fee.
Insurance & Concierge Medicine
Another key distinction is that Vines Concierge Medicine will still accept Medicare and commercial health insurance. Professional services, such as office visits and labs, will be billed separately and you will continue to be responsible for any applicable co-pays or deductibles relating to those services. The annual membership fee to be part of the concierge practice, covers amenities and benefits provided to enrolled patients.
About
Karen Vines, MD
I grew up in Huntsville, AL, also known as Rocket City, where I was introduced to engineering at a young age. However, I soon discovered that my true passion was in medicine. I attended UAB for both my undergraduate studies and medical school, where I found my calling in family medicine. I realized I wanted to advocate for patients and provide the kind of comprehensive care in a way that only primary care physicians can.
In 2016, I joined Grandview Medical and have cherished the opportunity to care for so many wonderful patients, all of whom I consider friends. While my time at Grandview has been deeply rewarding, I have decided to pursue a more personalized approach to primary care.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our two children. We enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, and watching movies together.
Dr. Vines’ Practice Philosophy:
*I want to be an advocate for my patients. I want them to feel like they are being heard. Only then can I truly help them, when I understand their symptoms and concerns.
*I thoroughly look into all of my patient’s physical ailments so that I can weigh all of their treatment options
*I focus on prevention and a healthy lifestyle. If I see lifestyle and diet choices that negatively affect my patient’s health, I try to provide advice so that they can stay healthy long-term.
